Royal Oak, MI, January 23, 2022 – The Lucky Corner – Memorial Field
The Royal Oak Leprechauns will be celebrating Winterfest at #TheLuckyCorner – Memorial Field with their fans on Saturday February 5th. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for the free event and there will be food, fun, music and more as well as Leprechaun mascot, Paddy O’Dinger. Leprechaun General Manager Mark Sackett and his staff are going all out for this unique winter celebration.
We’re all excited to hang out with our loyal fans and hopefully meet new ones as well.
We’re all excited to hang out with our loyal fans and hopefully meet new ones as well. We’ve got a great night of entertainment planned with food, hot beverages, music, and the lighting ceremony itself. This is a great opportunity for our fans to hang out with the organization and learn more about the team. We’ll be selling season tickets, individual game tickets, Leprechaun wearables, and more,” GM Mark Sackett said. “We’re looking for more folks to join our organization and be part of a winning and fun team both on and off the field. We have unique opportunities for college players to play and to give college students in sports management an opportunity to learn the trade.
Lights will outline the playing field and fences and at 8:30 p.m., the Leprechauns will have a “Light the Field” moment.
“We plan to make this an annual event each off-season and are always looking for more ideas and help to continue building a stronger organization all around,” Mark Sackett. “We’ll have cornhole games going on, hopefully, enough snow for our radar gun to ‘time some snowballs’ and hot and cold beverages and treats from one of our favorite game day partners, Sno Biz.”
The City of Royal Oak Parks and Rec Department partnered with Sackett and his team and have been hard at work in the off-season overseeing improvements at Memorial Park. New pavement throughout the park makes walking the off-field area a much smoother experience. A left-field lounge of sorts will feature a “Paddy O’Deck” for fans to enjoy a Leprechaun outing. New signage from supporters will be up soon and the press box got an upgrade with a new window for the video and audio game day crews. More enhancements are in the works to make a night at #TheLuckyCorner a memorable one for everyone. Memorial Park comes alive this summer with 29 Leprechaun home dates beginning Wednesday, June 1st with an 11:05 a.m. first pitch.
“We can’t wait for summer to get back out on the field and have fans in the stands cheering on the Leprechauns. We have a full schedule of theme nights planned as well.” Mark Sackett
